MINUTES

 

October 2, 2017

Town Offices

4:30-5:30PM

 

ADMINISTRATIVE ITEMS:

 

--Present all 7 active members of CSAC, including Paula Miller,

Jay TBW liaison, Grace WLC liaison, Richard H guest.

--Next Meeting Date, proposed 11/6/17

--Approve Minutes of 9/11/17, Jeff motioned, Lorin 2nd, all in favor

--Public Be Heard, Roberta did not bring up any issues at

beginning of meeting

Jim read a letter brought to him for us to discuss but did not

read it since she is “having issues”. The gist was that the design

of Jeremy’s memorial did not have public input.

 

OLD BUSINESS:

 

--Lang Subdivision- Pat Letter was sent to Planning Board chair,

John LaValle about the trail portion on Michael Lang’s property

including it on his deed before subdivision. Pat and Lorin will go

to the meeting 10/5/17, 7PM to assure the easement in in place.

--Great Lawn- Pat, whether to mow as frequently as it was prior to

this summer, less often, go to hay?

Be resolved that the Great Lawn will be kept a Great Lawn by

mowing at least often as the athletic fields. Jeff motioned to

accept, Jim second, all in favor.

--Entrance to the Comeau, we may have to erect a fence to keep

cars form parking on the new path. Richard

--Signage- What it might look like, the message- Jim, Pat, Table

until next meeting, when everyone will come up with their own

narrative. Pat will talk to Brett M. Another sign with disease info

near poop cans. Sticker for cans.

--Bill was to get back to us on the town’s budget process, our line

item in particular. Process starts with tomorrow’s special,

preliminary budget TBW meeting. $5000 will be asked for to be

used to trail maintenance, renovation, signage; we will have to

come up with particulars.

--Jeff was to find out about our bank account and write a letter

about lawn recommendation.

 

NEW BUSINESS:

 

--Planting projects- Jim The Woodstock Tree Committee is

recommending riparian plantings to prevent erosion of steam

banks with Virginia Roses are offered to plant now before the

freeze. Jim is recommending permission be granted immediately

due to time frame, Grace feels she will talk to Hank Starr about

easement. She will do that check and get with Jim ASAP.

They are also asking to place a Sugar Maple near the existing

aging silver maple at the corner of the Comeau House and the

Shakespeare field. It would be established by the time that the

existing tree needs removal. They should have someone come to

the next meeting and fill out our application. Also memorials were

a discussion we had had on erected on the property. Jim will

invite Michael V to the next meeting with completed form.

--Newest item- need to remove dead trees hanging into Longyear

field. Cleanup the railroad ties that delineate edge of car park. It

has been resolved that the committee pen a letter to the town to

do above, Kathy will write letter.
