BUSINESS
ITEMS:
Introduction
of Lorin Rose – our new CSAC committee member,
and Kate
Berdan, the WLC new Outreach and Program
Coordinator.
Jim H
presented a rendition that he, Lorin and Richard designed
as a
memorial for Jeremy. It is a small bluestone rimmed pond
with
solar pump for a “weeping” stone. It would be placed in the
government
area. The Committee was supportive of the plan.
Siting
will be worked on when the snow melts.
Parking
setup of handicapped areas is under review by new
supervisor.
The
pillar at the entrance to the Comeau needs to be repaired,
The
pillar on the pharmacy side is deteriorating and threatens to
fall into
the drainage ditch, There was general agreement that
widening
the entrance on the right side is not recommended. The
reason it
has failed is due to the water in the ditch. A sign should
be placed
at the work site to describe the work being done. The
sign
should explain that the pillar is being repaired, not moved or
replaced.
Allan V
has been walking the trails; he said he had missed a
couple of
months when it was very icy but will now continue as
agreed.
Potential
new approach to dog-walking issues, Terry presented
concept
of off leash hours. Instead the committee voted to send a
resolution
to the Town Board advising them to clarify and enforce
the
existing town law as it relates to dogs on the Comeau. Jim
seconded,
5 votes in favor.
Jim
exhibited a sign for the intermittent Woodland Pool alerting
walkers
to the spring season of salamander migration.
PUBLIC BE
HEARD: Kaitlana Viglielmo spoke about the dog
issue.
She explained she had been nipped at by a dog when
walking
the trails and as a result did not feel comfortable walking
the Comeau for many years.
