One of these other dog owners described finding sections of barb wire, on 4/3, which he brought up to the town offices and was presented to our group today by Jackie E. It was found on top of one of the barricades that originally was erected by the trails task force to redirect to the new section. Jim explained that these barricades (not barb wire) were placed with approvals, and removed by others at least twice. Both signage and the barricades were ignored by some walkers. A police report has been filed about the wire. Police have been a presence for the last 3 months reminding walkers about the leash laws. The committee discussed strategies for finding a new head of the trails crew, possibly from Tahawus or NY/NJ Trails Conference. An outreach effort subcommittee will be formed with Jim. Jim said that the job description could be more administrative than hands on as he was as head of the crew. Perhaps we could write the job description it to reflect the skills of the person who is interested in the position. --Dogs: A letter to the editor and posting on Facebook by a dog walker who was confronted by unleashed dogs and then by their owners was discussed. --Trail-markers are finished. Jim will plan a time when they can be placed on the property. --Kiosk: Jeff displayed pictures of several kiosks The committee chose the kiosk with bluestone and wood from Mohonk. Grace will work on getting the plans from Glen Hoagland (subsequently Rosalind did acquire the plans). The design and placement will be shown to Hank Starr for an initial review by the Land Conservancy. If the preliminary design and placement is acceptable, the CSAC will do an application for our committee and then officially present it to the WLC. --Best Practices draft will be done next month. --Town Issues- Jay reported - Town will remove old signage at end of driveway the by the end of week. Two new signs will be added for parking and theater; cost and installation of three speed bumps is $1000 town which has been approved. Jay found that the portop-potties are pumped by the town when requested from the Woodstock Soccer Club. Jeff will bring this back to the soccer club. --Jeff V read Kaitlana V’s civics paper which was met with applause.
