COMEAU STEWARDSHIP ADVISORY COMMITTEE Minutes– July 14, 2014 – 4-6 PM Comeau Town Offices ADMINISTRATIVE ITEMS: --Meeting called to order by Terry FA -4:05pm. --Next Meeting Date, 8/11/14 --In attendance: From CSAC Terry FA, Grace M., Jim H., Jeff V., Richard H., Pat J., Kathy L. Rosalind D., liaison to WLC, Jay W. liaison to TB, Ken P TB liaison to WLC. --Approved 6/10/2014 minutes, Jim motioned to accept the revised version, Grace seconded, all voted aye BUSINESS: -- Presentation by Beth Walker, Co-chair of the Woodstock Garden Club. -- Suggestion to form a smaller working group to continue writing Best Management Practices. Interested committee members should contact Grace. -- Committee members were reminded to continue speaking with anyone who might assist with the deteriorating stone walls. --The plan for the Historical Society expansion has been accepted as complete by the WLC and they now have 45 days to give an opinion about whether it is congruent with the easement. --Signage Update- An example of the shape and color of the new signs was shown. Logo will have less detail due to sign dimension. Locust posts are preferred. Projected completion date is end of August. --Comeau Drive Update- Jay again addressed potential expansion of Comeau Drive. The Christian Science Church might allow foot traffic on their driveway going to Rt 212 from the lower parking lot. For the present, the expansion plan will be discussed within the CSAC until a more complete plan is developed. --Trails Task Force fund- raising event raised $1744 after expenses which should cover cost for the trail work. --Review of the Butterfly Resolution. The CSAC will submit a letter to the TW Board asking about present pesticide usage by the Highway Department. --In conversation with Michael Lang, the CSAC understands that if a private property sign is needed, Michael will take responsibility for delineating the boundary of his property. It would seem that the paperwork to formalize the access rights to the portion of the trail that is on his property has not been completed. . --There is a seep in the western end of Longyear Meadow which should be ameliorated. 6:02: Motion by Richard to adjourn .
