Approve January 13 Minutes:

Terry moves to accept minutes, Jim Hanson seconds the motion.

All in favor.

 

Best Practices

 

Discussion of best practices method. Places to research were suggested. It was decided to invite Ingrid Haeckel from DEC to be our first expert for consultation. Ingrid formally worked for Hudsonia and did the town-wide habitat mapping project so she is already very familiar with the Comeau property.

 

Trail Signage/Names

 

Discussion of trail names and trail markers.

 

Terry Antman made a resolution to keep East Trail, David Corbett Loop, and Historical Society names on the map. Grace Murphy seconded the motion. 

 

Four in favor. Richard Heppner, Jim Hanson abstained.

 

Mary Ann Ahroon commented from the public.

 

A “No Parking Emergency Vehicles Only” sign is needed in the parking lot in the area of the gate to the entrance path.

 

 

 

Review of proposed Comeau Logo or Emblem

 

Joan Elliot has created a proposed “emblem” for the Comeau to be used on signage and other official materials. This was reviewed for further discussion.

 

East Trail Report

 

Jim Hanson is preparing a trail report for the East Trail with conditions and proposed changes. Trail has been walked with WLC. It is complete to officially submit to Woodstock Land Conservancy.

 

Announcement

 

Kathy Longyear announced a “Soil and Hay Testing Day” to be held by Cornell Cooperative Extension.
