Commission for Civic Design

Minutes of Regular Meeting

                                                                              June 16, 2014

The regular meeting of the Commission for Civic design was called to order by Deputy Chairperson

Cornelia Rosenblum at 6:04 pm.

Present: Cornelia Rosenblum, Hera, Richard Heppner, Joan Elliott           

            Cathy Magarelli (TB rep.) for MH Community Center

            A quorum was present, the Agenda adopted.

            Minutes from 6/02/14, edited and corrected, to be adopted next meeting.

Case Reviews:  MH Community Center renovation/addition.

                        Cornelia presented, for CCD discussion, drawings from David Eckroth’s showing ideas for

                        some alternate solutions to the interior handicap access, and some suggestions for changes

                        to the main entry.

                        Cathy Magarelli reviewed David’s ideas with the CCD and will show all to the architects. 

                        She also reported on progress of the many facets of the Community Center renovation.

                        In answer to Richard Heppner’s request to save or replace the Cupola that will be done

                        as a smaller scale replacement: more affordable and more appropriate to the present

                        function of the building.

            Design for improvements and additions to the Community Center

            Former Corner Cupboard: exterior improvements (Tsoumpas)

            Library Annex

            Town Hall signs and directories

            Holy Ascension Monastery, Cold Brook Road, continual design review

            Landau Grill on Mill Hill Road, front porch renovations

            Bread Alone, Mill Hill Road: possible 2^nd story addition

The meeting was adjourned at 7:25 pm.
