Founded in 1988 by a dedicated group of local citizens, the Woodstock Land Conservancy (WLC) is a non-profit organization committed to the protection, preservation and stewardship of open lands, forests, wetlands and watercourses, scenic areas and historic sites in Woodstock and the surrounding area. An Executive Director, a Program Director and an all-volunteer board of directors, work to open trails, support local agriculture, mitigate climate change, and most importantly, the WLC encourages the community to get out on the land and experience the extraordinary beauty of Woodstock and the eastern Catskills.
