Duties:
Welcome to the Woodstock Planning Board's Little Corner of the Web
The Woodstock Planning Board was empowered in 1960 to oversee subdivisions in the Town of Woodstock involving lots of less than 3 acres in size. The Planning Board's authority has expanded over the years to include:
  1. Review of all subdivisions
  2. Site Plan Review (SPR)
  3. Issuance of Special Use Permits (SUPs)
The Planning Board consists of seven appointed, unpaid members and meets on the first and third Thursdays of each month. Workshops are sometimes held on the fifth Thursday of months that have five Thursdays. Meetings and Workshops are held at 7:00 PM in the main room of the Town Office Building at 45 Comeau Drive, Woodstock. All meetings and workshops are open to the public. Agendas are posted on the Meetings Calendar which can be accessed from this website.
Office Location & Contact Information: The Planning Board office is located at 47 Comeau Drive in the rear cottage of the Town Office Building complex.

Office hours: 9:30-4:30 Mon-Thurs, closed for lunch 12:30-1:30. 9:30-12:30 on Fridays. Office is closed on Friday afternoons.

The Scenic Overlay District Handbook has been placed on-line. Click below to download the handbook. The handbook was created to assist applicants in completing the Special Use Permit application for new structures in Woodstock's Scenic Overlay District the Subdivision, Site Plan Review (SPR), and Special Use Permit (SUP) applications are available in the office or can be downloaded by visiting the Forms
Once you have completed your application, please make an appointment with the Planning Specialist/Clerk for review. We do not have the capability to accept completed applications via the Internet. Please do not email completed applications to the Planning Board or any other town office.
The Woodstock Planning Board encourages the public to submit written commentary to the Board on all cases currently under review. Please note, though, that unsigned letters will not be copied to the Board Members. Thank you.
