Welcome to the Woodstock Planning Board's Little Corner of the Web

The Woodstock Planning Board was empowered in 1960 to oversee subdivisions in the Town of Woodstock involving lots of less than 3 acres in size. The Planning Board's authority has expanded over the years to include:

1. Review of all subdivisions
2. Site Plan Review (SPR)
3. Issuance of Special Use Permits (SUPs)
4. Wetlands and Watercourse Permits
5. Timber Harvests
6. Development within the Scenic Overlay

The Planning Board consists of seven appointed, unpaid volunteers and meets on the first and third Thursdays of each month. Workshops are held on the fifth Thursday if applicable. Meetings and Workshops are held at 6:00 PM in the main room of the Town Office Building at 45 Comeau Drive, Woodstock. All meetings and workshops are open to the public. The Scenic Overlay District Handbook has been placed on-line. Click below to download the handbook. The handbook was created to assist applicants in completing the Special Use Permit application for new structures in Woodstock's Scenic Overlay District. 

All applications can be downloaded below.

Once you have completed your application, please drop off at the office or within the Building Department for referral, if required, and send files via email. Call the Planning Board administrative assistant with any questions.

The Woodstock Planning Board encourages the public to submit written commentary to the Board on all cases currently under review. Please note, though, that unsigned letters will not be copied to the Board Members. Thank you.
