Mission

Woodstock’s Housing Committee, in response to demographic studies that identify severe long-term housing shortages, will identify and recommend diverse, sustainable and affordable housing options.

Woodstock Housing Committee will consider, among others, the following possibilities in support of the 2018 Woodstock Comprehensive Plan objectives:

  •   public and private properties suitable for both large and small-scale housing   development
  •   funding options and legislative tools for housing development
  •   innovative housing initiatives such as home-sharing, co-housing, and rent-to-buy  properties
  •    vacant or underutilized properties for use/adaptive reuse for housing
  •   zoning law changes

WHOC activities support the 2018 Woodstock Comprehensive Plan's mission to balance inclusiveness, community values and environmental preservation while promoting sustainable growth.
